The FESPB&EPSO Joint Plant Biology Congress 2016 is going to be held in Prague 26 - 30 June, 2016. Prague has long tradition in plant science development witnessing the world earliest conferment in the field of plant physiology of Julius Sachs at that time Charles University (CU) in Prague in 1857.
The meeting is going to be organized by the Czech Society of Experimental Plant Biology (CSEPB1,2 http://www.csebr.cz/english/), with a seat at CU, Faculty of Science with support of professional congress organizer, the company Guarant International (www.guarant.cz). The organization is fully supported by all major institutions located in Prague with focus on plant science – CU Prague,
Faculty of Science, Czech University of Life Sciences, Institute of Experimental Botany and the Institute of Botany of Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. In addition it is supported by the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice.
Prague is a beautiful, charming city lying in the heart of Europe, offering both historical atmosphere and modern conference venue. With my colleagues we are looking forward to meeting you here.
1 CSEPB is a member of the Federation of European Societies of Plant Biology (FESPB). CSEPB contributes to accomplishment of the aims of FESPB to advance research and education in plant sciences, and the exchange of information amongst plant biologists within Europe and beyond.
2 CSEPB is an Associate of EPSO being the sixth national society signing in 2009 the Memorandum of Understanding on science policy cooperation in the European plant sector and beyond towards creating the "Knowledge Based Bio-Economy". CSEPB is collaborating with EPSO to join forces on policy issues and public education. For example, this year we joined EPSO initiative of Fascination of Plants Day.
